At just 11 years old, Bryon Bills made a promise to his grandfather, Courtney Afton—a man whose entrepreneurial spirit left a lasting mark:
“One day, when I have my own company, I’m going to name it after you.”
In 1992, Bryon kept that promise. Afton Incorporated was born.
What began with small church projects and local retail evolved rapidly. By the late '90s, Afton was leading plumbing work for Texas’s booming megachurch movement. As the new century unfolded, the company’s reputation grew—General Contractors began requesting Afton for schools, municipal buildings, and civic infrastructure. Today, Afton has played a key role in building fire stations, police academies, and hundreds of other landmark projects across the Southern region of Lone Star State.
The legacy deepened in 2018 when Bryon's son, Justin Bills, took the reins of operations and earned his Master Plumbing License the following year. After Bryon’s passing, his wife, Linda—who had been a steady force since day one—stepped up as President and CFO, continuing the family’s commitment to excellence.
Three decades later, Afton remains a proud, minority-owned company—large in capability, grounded in family values, and trusted by GCs who value integrity, legacy, and craftsmanship.
